Workplaces That Bring Teams Together
Vicky Gosher, Director of Operations at PINAKIIN DESIGNS, discusses why the office matters when it gives teams useful ways to focus, collaborate and exchange ideas.
Vicky Gosher, Director of Operations at PINAKIIN DESIGNS, joined an industry panel discussion on the changing role of the workplace.
The discussion considered why the office continues to matter when teams have more flexibility in how and where they work. The answer is not simply presence. It is what people are able to do when they are together.
Proximity still matters
Some conversations happen in planned meetings. Others happen between them, through quick exchanges, shared context and the ability to solve something together without scheduling it first.
People return for more than just tasks.

Workplace design has a practical role here. It can support focused work, collaboration and informal exchange without treating any one of them as the only reason to come in.
More than a better-looking office
The best workplaces create reasons to gather. They give people the right settings for different parts of the day, whether that is concentrated individual work, a working session with a team or an unplanned conversation that moves something forward.
Good workplace design contributes to a stronger operating ecosystem. It helps teams connect, share knowledge and build trust over time.
The point is not to make people return to an office for its appearance. It is to make time spent together useful.
